Brass Processing

Our Brass Processing Services

Let Blue Ridge Brass take the “work” out of your reloading prep!

Why send your brass to us?

Skip the time‑consuming trimming, depriming, cleaning, and sizing: let our pro-grade equipment do it for you. Whether you’re a casual shooter or full-time reloader, our processing service gives you ready-to-load once-fired brass, consistently and efficiently.

How Our Process Works

  1. Sort & Package your brass by caliber—mixed calibers incur a $0.45/lb sorting fee.

  2. Clean or Dirty—we accept brass in any condition; clean brass can speed turnaround.

  3. Ship Properly: We recommend USPS flat-rate with a sturdy liner. Include our completed processing form in the box. Return shipping is added to your invoice.

  4. Our Brass Prep Process:

    • Dry tumbling to polish enough to run through machine

    • Depriming and primer-pocket swaging/reaming

    • Full-length resizing, trimming to precise spec (e.g. 2.005″ ± .005″ for 308 Win)

    • Quality gauge checks with Lyman & Sheridan case guages

    • Final wet-tumble and corn‑cob polishing for shine and corrosion resistance

What You’ll Get

  • Brass that’s mirror‑shiny, sized, and primer‑pocket ready

  • Consistent quality, vetted with head‑space tools to ensure reliability

  • Faster loading—because the prep work is already done!

Why Blue Ridge Brass?

Since 2015, we’re family‑run and focused on helping reloaders save time and improve consistency. Customer reviews average nearly 5 stars, with repeat buyers citing quality and dependability across calibers from 9 mm to 308 Win and beyond Blue Ridge Brass.

  • How to Send Brass for Processing

    1. Sort Your Brass

    • Sort by caliber (no need to count).

    • Mixed calibers or live ammunition incur a $0.45/lb sorting fee.

    2. Clean or Dirty — Both Accepted

    • We accept brass in any condition.

    • Sending clean brass speeds up turnaround, but pricing is the same.

    3. Pack Securely

    • Use USPS flat rate boxes (best value).

    • You pay for shipping both ways; return shipping is added to your invoice.

    • Line boxes with heavy-duty bags or thick plastic to prevent loss.

    • Tape boxes securely — USPS is rough with heavy packages.

    • Tip: Don’t write “Fragile” (it tends to attract rough handling).

    4. Complete the Brass Processing Form

    • Download, print, and fill out our Brass Processing Form.

    • Include your email and shipping address to avoid delays.

    • Put a completed form in each box (important if sending multiple).

    • Include the date on your form so we can ship your order in the fewest boxes possible, saving you on return shipping.

Trade Credit:

–Did you know you can send us brass you don’t need as credit towards your processing services? We pay per pound based on the condition and quantity of what you send. Please CLEARLY indicate in the box and on your processing form what is for credit. We suggest bagging separately and labeling the bags or boxes as clearly as possible. You can write the calibers you want processed on the brass processing form where it says “calibers” near the top. At the bottom or on the back of the form, you can write that you are sending additional brass for trade.

These brass processing prices are per piece. Unusable brass will be discarded unless otherwise requested. You will only be charged for the number of pieces processed and returned to you + additional fees (sorting fee per lb for mixed brass, broken decapping pins due to berdan primed or loaded ammunition, etc- if applicable) +  return shipping fees.
