Want to take the "work" out of your brass processing?
Send us your brass to be professionally processed!
Save on work, time and the need for costly equipment!
Follow our step-by-step process to get your brass processing order on its way to us:
- To start, sort the desired caliber for your brass processing order. You are not required to count your brass before sending it. (Any brass that arrives with mixed calibers or loaded ammunition will incur a $0.45/lb sorting fee)
- We accept brass to be processed whether it is clean or dirty. Sending already cleaned brass saves time and increases turn around speed! There is no difference in price for sending clean brass.
- It’s best to use USPS flat rate boxes to ship your brass. Sender is responsible for shipping costs to and from Blue Ridge Brass LLC. Return shipping label cost will be added to final processing price and indicated on invoice.
- Next, use a liner when sending your brass to prevent loss of product or damage to contents. Great options are heavy-duty trash bags or thicker mil plastic. Properly taping the entire box is a necessity as USPS is not easy on heavy packages. Writing “fragile” on your box is more likely to get it damaged then just leaving it blank. We are not responsible for lost or damaged packages due to postal service error.
- Click to download, print, and complete the Brass Processing Form required to be included with your brass so we can process and return it to you as quickly as possible. Refusing to acknowledge parts of the processing form such as not putting your email or shipping address causes backlogs and increased wait times for invoices. Please include a copy of the completed form in each box (if sending multiple packages). Boxes may arrive separately (sometimes weeks apart) due to USPS backlogs. Filling out the date on your processing form helps us keep your batches together and ship back to you in the fewest boxes, saving you $ on shipping costs.
Shipping
- Ship all brass to 7466 Lee Hwy Troutville, VA 24175. Please email austin@blueridgebrass.com prior to sending brass so we know to expect your package and can verify that we are still processing your desired caliber. Due to the time-consuming nature of certain calibers and the volume of orders we are not currently processing .308 WIN, .38 SPL, .380 ACP and .357 MAG. We hope to bring these calibers back in the future. We are continuously running .223/5.56 and 9mm. These are set up on dedicated machines. Calibers like .45 ACP, .300 BLK and .40 S&W are run when we have enough customer demand or when we are running those calibers for ourselves to list on the website. This is why it is critical for you to email us PRIOR to sending your brass to get the most up to date turn-around times.
- Also, if you’re local or just passing through and wish to drop off your brass in person, please email us at austin@blueridgebrass.com or call 540-525-3104. Brass drop-off customers by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please do not just show up unannounced. Our shop is located on our property and is NOT a retail location.
Payment methods:
–Emailed invoice (pay online via a secure link using a credit/debit card) All emailed invoices incur a 4% processing fee of the total invoice cost (including shipping and sorting fees)
–Venmo/ApplePay/Zelle or Google Wallet (at this time we do not accept PayPal or Cash App)
–Check or Money Order made out to Blue Ridge Brass, LLC: You may choose to include a check or money order for the estimated total (if you know approx. how many pieces you sent) + return shipping with your brass to save time. We will cash the check once your brass is complete and email you with the total piece count. At that time, we will also let you know if there is a remaining balance owed before shipping. If you wish to pay by check after your brass is processed, we will email you once your brass is completed with a total. Checks/ money orders can be mailed to 7466 Lee Hwy. Troutville, VA 24175. Once the check has cleared our account, we will begin cleaning your brass for shipment. You will be emailed tracking information once your brass ships.
-Cash: Cash payments are preferred for in person drop off/pick up customers. If you are an in-person customer and need to use another form of payment, please let us know prior to picking up your brass. We need time to let a check clear our account or process a credit/debit card. All processing services must be paid in full before brass is returned to a customer.
Trade Credit:
–Did you know you can send us brass you don’t need as credit towards your processing services? We pay per pound based on the condition and quantity of what you send. Please CLEARLY indicate in the box and on your processing form what is for credit. We suggest bagging separately and labeling the bags or boxes as clearly as possible. You can write the calibers you want processed on the brass processing form where it says “calibers” near the top. At the bottom or on the back of the form, you can write that you are sending additional brass for trade.
Lead Times
Current processing time is approximately 6-8 weeks PER CALIBER. (THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND IS AN ESTIMATE) If you send 2, 3, 4+ calibers, we will complete what we are currently running and email you to see if you would like us to ship back what is done or hang onto all the brass until every caliber is completed.
Austin or Victoria will do their best to update everyone on the status of their brass but cannot spend valuable hours fielding calls and emails when we should be processing. We are aware that our voicemail box is full.
We will not be sending out individual updates for brass processing orders. You will receive an email from us once your brass has been processed and counted with instructions for payment. From there it could be up to another 2 weeks to get your brass cleaned, polished and packaged to ship back to you. You will receive an email with tracking information when your brass ships.
Also, please understand the challenges of this industry right now and trust that we are working diligently to send your brass back ready for you to load! Certain calibers are running continuously on dedicated machines (.223/5.56 and 9mm) while all others are processed in batches based on demand and machine availability. Email austin@blueridgebrass.com for questions related to lead times and caliber availability.
These brass processing prices are per piece. Unusable brass will be discarded unless otherwise requested. You will only be charged for the number of pieces processed and returned to you + additional fees (sorting fee per lb for mixed brass, broken decapping pins due to berdan primed or loaded ammunition, etc- if applicable) + return shipping fees.
